‘Sequence Of Voices’ is the new single from TMR-regulars Chartreuse. The track sees them continue on from their 2023 debut, Morning Ritual, with influences from folk and jazz combining with their signature atmospheric indie sound. It’s a dynamic cut layered up with very genuine feelings of emotions and anxiety, encapsulated by the story behind Mike Wagstaff’s lyrics: “Early last year my mom had a fall and hit her head whilst walking the dog. She was concussed for a while afterward which resulted in her heading to the hospital, just to check she hadn't done any real damage. After having some scans done the doctors ended up finding tumours on her brain. These, thankfully, turned out to be benign. This also happened during a time when a few of my close friends had family battling cancer, so I think the whole tone of this period in my life had soaked deeply into my songwriting.” Keep an eye out for Charteuse’s live show at London’s Hoxton Hall on May 13th, 2025. -Dan Peeke
